For some, food holds a particularly strong sense of nostalgia. I discovered this Russian stout years ago during a time in my life when I was traveling extensively as a personal chef. I felt an unprecedented sense of freedom and anticipation of what life held in store. The flavors and aroma mirrored that sentiment for a time. It is a strange and beautiful nostalgia to behold, both in taste and temperament.
