I am at a loss these days. My mind and heart are heavy over current events that reek of social injustice. I can’t find proper words to comment on nor participate in discussions about any of it. One thing I see — sanity is not contagious. What I can say is that I am a person of love, and I respect all life. When I meet someone, from my vantage, I am meeting a fellow human being. That’s it. That’s my lens. Until proved to me through words or actions that I cannot trust someone, or that they operate from hatred, misogyny, bigotry, or psychopathy, all I see is an opportunity to share in our collective humanity, and expand through whatever knowledge, experiences, wisdom, passion, joy, and love we can share. I have always been this way, since I was a child. Were it up to me, the word ‘human’ would begin with a capital ‘H’ and we would address one another as fellow Humans, or sisters, or brothers, or friends…and care about and for one another in that vein. That’s how I live, and that’s the world I want.
